Types of ration cards in Jammu and Kashmir:

  • APL Cards: In Jammu and Kashmir, Under the APL category two types of cards are issued. One is Saffron card and the other is Honorary Ration cards. The saffron will issue to the people Above Poverty Line and the honorary ration card will issue to the families who do not want the ration card facilities
  • BPL Ration Cards: It is either green colour or yellow colour issued to the families below the poverty line
  • Antyodaya Anna Yojana Ration card: It is issued to the families that are financially unstable and living in slum areas

  • Go to the website www.jk.gov.in and download the application form
  • Download the application form from that website and fill the form completely
  • Attach all the essential documents required; submit it in the concerned office.
  • The officials will verify the form and documents and will you an acknowledgement receipt. The application will forward to the area supply inspector
  • Officials will make an inquiry to verify all the data and will issue the ration card
  • Upon submitting the acknowledgement list a new ration card will give to you
