THOUSAND PILLAR TEMPLE:

Thousand pillar temple is also known as rudrashwara Swamy temple. History of Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Temple:

This temple is founded by Sri Maddigunta Thirupathaiah s/o Basavaiah, he was constructed in the temple 1963 by seeking the permission from grama panchayat by spending his personal funds without collecting donations from any sector and start construction 7-2-1963.

Temple is divided into three segments horizontal and vertical planes.  Have three segments the vertical planes are inner spectrum sanatorium, the middle structure towers, and the tip of the tower (gopuram).

Bhadrakali Temple :

The architecture of temple: 

This temple is built in a chalukyan style. The exceptional features of goddess bhadrakali are the 2.7*2.7 metre square stone image with good-looking eyes and eight arms each carrying one weapon and are wearing an alluring crown.  A fierce lion, the sacred vehicle of the goddess is placed opposite to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.  Temple has a dwajasthabam and balipetam.

History of bhadrakali temple:   

This temple built in 625 AD  by the order of the king pulakeshi ii, of the chalukyan dynasty to commemorate his victory over vengi region.Kakatiya’s later adopted the temple and considered goddess bhadrakali as their “kuladevatha”. A lake was also built by Ganapathi deva adjacent to the temple.  Due to the fall of kakatiya dynasty to the Muslim rulers of Delhi, the temple lost its prominence, bhadrakali temple regained its magnetism after it was renovated in 1950’s by Sri Ganapathi Sastri and few other locals.

Other deities: there are many deities for Lord Shiva, Hanuman temple, Subramanya Swamy and navagrahas along with images of Uma Maheshwari image on the stone are placed.

Temple opens from morning 5-30 am to afternoon 1 pm, and they again started from afternoon 3 pm tonight 8 pm.

How to Reach Temple:

Warangal has a good network of public transport. An auto or cab from the railway station will take 25 minutes to reach this temple. Warangal Bus Stand is also in proximity to this temple.

There is a road through which only motor vehicles can travel till the entry point of waterfalls, from there we have to trek down 400 steps to reach the bottom of the waterfalls. It is just 10-15 minutes to reach waterfalls from the entry point on foot.

It is believed that Kuntala jalapatham got its name from the dearest wife of King Dushyanth, Shakuntala. They fell in love with each other and were charmed by the picturesque beauty of surroundings. It is also believed that Shakuntala uses to have a bath in the waterfall.

The best seasons to visit Kuntala waterfalls is monsoon and post-monsoon. It is very dangerous to get into the water at the lowest point when the water flow is high due to sharp rocks and distorts. The inconstancy of water flow especially in the rainy season makes the place very dangerous. The water level is not much after January, so it is better not to visit it during Jan and July.

How To Reach Kuntala Falls :

Till the village Neredikonda public transport is available and from there we can hire private transport. Kuntala waterfall is a peaceful location with excellent views of nature surrounded by thick forest. Thick vegetation is along the road between Nerdikonda and Kuntala, that gives a wonderful driving experience. It is a very good location to spend a few hours. Nirmal and Adilabad are the base stations. Some shops are available that sell things like water etc.

Basara also called Basar is on River Godavari’s shore. It’s a famous pilgrimage place as the famous Sri Gnana Saraswathi temple is here. The temple of Basara is a unique temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswathi, the goddess of knowledge. People bring their kids here to do learning ceremony called “AksharaAbhyasam”. It is said that Basara Temple is one of the two ancient temples of Goddess Saraswathi in India. the other is located in Kashmir.

History of Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati Temple:

According to a legend, Maharishi Vyas and his disciple along with Viswamitra decided to take rest in a cool and pleasant atmosphere after the war of Kurukshetra. In the search of a pleasant place, they came to Dandaka forest and were pleased with the pleasant and calm nature. Since Maharishi Vyasa spent a most of time in prayers, the place was called as Vasara. Later that was spelled as Basara due to the influence of Marathi language in this region.

Basara is also considered to be one among the three temples built near the holy confluence of the Godavari and Manjira Rivers by Rashtrakutas. Basara Temple was constructed by the Karnataka king Bijialudu.

Sri Mahankali Temple, Sri Vyasa Maharshi Guha, Sri Dattatreya Temple, Sri Vedavathi Shila, Godavari River and Lord Shiva Temple at the banks of River Godavari are the attractions in Basara.

Taj Falaknuma Palace is a splendid palace in Hyderabad, it is 5 km away from Charminar and 9 km away from Nampally Railway Station.Falaknuma palace initially belonged to Paigahs of Hyderabad State, later obtained by Hyderabadi Nizams.The palace was built by Nawab Viqar-ul-Umra, Hyderabad prime minister in 1898. He was the brother-in-law of Nizam VI, Nawab Mir Mahboob Ali Khan. It is one of the top appeals in Hyderabad.

The meaning of Falaknuma is “Star of Heaven”, the foundation was laid in 1884 and was designed by an Italian architect. The construction of the Falaknuma palace was completed in 9 years. Nizam VI purchased the palace in 1897 and operated it as a royal guest house. The palace is at an elevation of 2000ft. and occupies an area of 32 acres.

The palace is in scorpion shape with the two stings appears as wings spreading in the north.In the middle part, there is a kitchen, Zenana Mahal, Gol Bangla and harem quarters extending towards South.There are 220 lavishly decorated rooms and 22 spacious halls. Nawab was an esurient traveler and the palace has some of the magnificent collections of paintings, furniture, statues, books and manuscripts from around the world.

The state reception room in another highlight of this palace, its ceiling is decorated with frescoes and gilded reliefs. The ballroom has a two-ton manually operated organ which is the only piece in the world. The collection of Jade and Holy Quran collection is considered to be very unique. A splendidly curved walnut roof covers the library and is similar to Windsor Castle.
