Telangana State Public Service Commission

The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is a constitutional body formed in the year 2014 by the Indian government. It selects the applicants for civil service jobs according to the merits of the candidates and reservation rules in Telangana state by TSPSC Groups. Like the other government jobs in TSPSC jobs, there is job security, on time salary, leave flexibility, pension schemes, health insurances, allowances etc. But the most important functions of the commission are rules approval, promotions and transfers, temporary appointments and disciplinary actions. So, the TSPSC releases the notifications for the post vacancies and then job seekers can apply for the concerned posts.

Functions of TSPSC:

The committee completes its functions and duties as articulate under article 320 of Indian constitution in accordance with TSPSC. But, the main function of the Committee is to choose the best candidates for the government posts in Telangana.

 

TSPSC Groups

Direct Recruitment:

The Committee will recruit candidates for the public services and posts of Telangana State in accordance with the rules and regulations, orders and instructions issued from time to time by the Government from time to time.

The committee as confided by the Government practice recruitments to the posts and services in regard to the PSUs, Local Bodies, Corporations etc. possessed by the Government.

The Commission conducts examinations or oral tests of suitable candidates’ selection for the different categories of posts in Telangana as per the scheme and syllabus notified for these posts.

Approval of Statutory Rules relating to State and Subordinate Services:

The Commission grants concurrency to the special rules or service rules adjustments proposed by the Government.

Concurrence for Compassionate Appointments in Special Cases:

The Commission grants the concurrency for sympathetic appointments in special cases mentioned by the Government.

Recruitment by Transfer / Promotion:

The committee grants concurrence where recruitment to a state Service is made either by transfer from a subordinate service. From which the recruitment is generally made or by promotion from such of the first gazette categories. However, they are specified in the Third Schedule of the Public Employment Order to the next higher gazette category.

Disciplinary Cases:

The Committee is tendering its guidance to Government for the proposals received from the Government on disciplinal cases involving major penalties.

Conduct of Departmental Examinations to State Government Employees:

For every six i.e., in May & November, the Commission conducts Departmental Tests.

Half Yearly Examinations:

It conducts half-yearly examinations for All India service officers, in Languages, Law and Revenue Subjects. However, the examinations will be held in the month of September and March every year.

Temporary Appointments – Concurrence of the Commission:

The concurrence of the Committee requisite for irregular appointments for a period beyond 3 months and for the continuation of the same in Government Departments is essential.

TSPSC Groups:

Telangana State Public Service Commission has 4 groups and it releases the notifications for them. The following are the four groups of TSPSC

TSPSC Notification

Group 1:

It comprises gazette posts with high earnings. Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police etc. posts comes under the Group 1. The examination will conduct for 900 marks and it has 6 papers that have subjects like Mathematics and science for 150 marks, Geography for 150 marks, History for 150 marks, Economics for 150 marks, General Studies for 150 marks and Telangana Movement for 150 marks. Finally, an interview will conduct for 100 marks. However, there are 54 groups available in group 1. The eligibility criteria for group 1 is, Bachelor’s degree must be minimum educational qualification and the minimum age to apply for group 1 must be 18 and maximum age must be 36.

Group 2:

Group 2 is the next level after group 1, ACTO, Deputy Tahsildar; Sub-registrar etc. are the posts that come under Group 2. It consists of 4 papers General Studies, History, Economics and Telangana Movement. After that, they will conduct an interview. However, there are 460 posts available in 420. The eligibility criteria for group 2 is, Bachelor’s degree must be minimum educational qualification and the minimum age to apply for group 1 must be 18 and maximum age must be 42.

Group 3:

It consists of non-gazette posts like Accountant, Auditor, Senior Auditor, Secretariat etc. The examination consists of three papers General Studies, History and Economics. But, there is no interview for group 3 posts. However, there are 1000 posts available in group 3. The eligibility criterion for group 3 is, intermediate must be minimum educational qualification and the minimum age to apply for group 1 must be 18 and maximum age must be 36.

Group 4:

The last on is Group 4, it consists of posts like Stenographer, junior Accountant, Typist etc. The examination is consists of 2 subjects General Studies and Secretarial Abilities for 300 marks. But, there is no interview for group 4. However, there are 5451 posts available in group 4. The eligibility criterion for group 4 is, intermediate must be minimum educational qualification and the minimum age to apply for group 1 must be 18 and maximum age must be 36.

Finally, after getting qualified in the examination, depending upon the group the pay scale ranges from a minimum of Rs. 15,000 to a maximum of Rs. 51,000 for group 1 services.

Percentage of reservation:

  • A  subcategory of BC (A) – 07%
  • B subcategory of BC (B) – 10%
  • C subcategory of BC (C) – 01%
  • D subcategory of BC (D) – 04%
  • E subcategory of BC (E) – 04%
  • For category ST       – 07%
  •  SC      – 15%
  • And the reservation for women – 33 1/3 %

Community wise qualifying marks:

  •  OC         – 40%
  •  BC         – 35%
  •  SC/ST    – 40%

TSPSC Notification:

The Committee puts out the notification of post vacancies after the Commission reports by the respective unit officer after getting finance clearance and other important permissions from the government. But, when the Commission gets the requisition from the unit officers with due permission from the government, then it will release the notification on the official website of Commission and a notification in newspapers.
